Abstract
The article discusses the process of electing a new Pope following the death of Pope Francis, highlighting the secretive and traditional nature of the papal interregnum. The College of Cardinals convenes in Rome to select the next Pontiff through a series of meetings and voting sessions. The article also mentions potential candidates for the papacy, including Cardinals from diverse backgrounds and viewpoints, reflecting the evolving nature of the Catholic Church. Despite calls for greater inclusivity, the next Pope is expected to be a Cardinal, and therefore a man, as women are still ineligible for ordination in the Catholic Church.
