Abstract

TIME 100 CLimateCATALYSTS ACTORSamuel L. Jackson's recent attention-grabbing role wasn't in a blockbuster film, but a 60-second ad in July for Vattenfall—a Swedish company that built an 11-turbine wind-power project within view of President Donald Trump's Scotland golf course. "These giants are standing tall against fossil fuels, rising up from the ocean like a middle finger to CO2," Jackson said. Though he wasn't mentioned by name, the viral ad was seen by many as a tongue-in-cheek nod to Trump's anti-wind-farm stance, and reached 600 million viewers across 33 countries within four days of its release.PHOTO (COLOR) [Extracted from the article]
