Abstract
The article focuses on Apple TV+’s new soap opera *Palm Royale*, executive produced by and starring Kristen Wiig and Laura Dern, which is set in 1960s Palm Beach. The show centers on Maxine, an outsider determined to infiltrate the exclusive Palm Royale social club, navigating a world where secrets are the currency among wealthy elites insulated from the era’s major social upheavals. Combining comedy and melodrama, the series features a diverse cast including Alison Janney, Ricky Martin, and Carol Burnett, and offers a satirical yet playful portrayal of upper-class society. The showrunner Abe Sylvia adapts Juliet McDaniel’s novel *Mr. and Mrs. American Pie* to create a fresh take on the self-aware soap format.
