Abstract

A legal dispute between a watch collector and auction house Christie's has resulted in a court order freezing around 100 timepieces, including a Rolex GMT-Master watch once owned by Marlon Brando that sold for over $5 million. The collector, Mohammed Zaman, filed a civil complaint in Geneva after Christie's auctioned off 113 watches from his personal collection. Christie's has informed winning bidders to withhold payments until the matter is resolved. The auction house denies any allegations and is seeking a swift resolution to release the watches.
