Abstract

The article focuses on the interplay between diasporic identity and literary representation in Black Atlantic contexts. Topics include Olaudah Equiano, the African writer and abolitionist whose autobiography The Interesting Narrative documents his experiences in transatlantic slavery, Stuart Hall, the Jamaican-born cultural theorist and memoirist of post-colonial identity, and the dynamics of displacement, nativity debates, and Caribbean diasporic positionality.
