Abstract
This meta-analysis focused on evaluating the effects of time-restricted eating (TRE) on metabolic syndrome (MetS) and related metabolic parameters in adults. Analyzing 22 randomized controlled trials with 1004 participants aged 18–75, the study found that TRE significantly reduced body mass index (BMI), body weight, and fasting blood glucose, while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) levels compared to control groups. Changes in waist circumference, blood pressure, triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and total cholesterol were not statistically significant. The findings suggest that TRE may serve as an effective adjuvant lifestyle intervention for preventing and managing metabolic dysfunctions associated with MetS.
