Abstract

The article informs about Slime molds, Saprophytes that lack chlorophyll waiting for the rains to help them emerge, and joins forces by the thousands to coalesce into blobby shapes near Mount Tam. Topics include slime molds are more closely related to amoebas like Giardia are to a patch of chanterelles; and Physarum polycephalum, the common slime mold used in such experiments, will slime all potential routes.
