The Impact of CIMMYT to global cereal production.

Abstract

The article presents information related to the efforts of the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in improving global agricultural productivity. It describes CIMMYT's largest maize and wheat germplasm bank and its grain contributions to the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway. It highlights CIMMYT's globally-recognized scientists who have contributed to agricultural production and nutrition including Norman Borlaug, Surinder Vasal, and Evangelina Villegas.
