A Structural Equation Modeling Analysis of the Relationships between Perceived Occupational Stress, Burnout, and Teacher Resilience.

Abstract
The article investigates the relationships among perceived occupational stress, burnout, and teacher resilience in Iranian English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers, using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) on data from 400 participants. It finds that lack of supervisory support, poor relations with colleagues and parents, discipline problems, and time pressure significantly contribute to occupational stress, which in turn positively correlates with teacher burnout. Teacher resilience is shown to have a mediating role by negatively relating to both occupational stress and burnout, thereby reducing burnout levels. The study highlights the importance of supportive teaching contexts and resilience-building to mitigate stress and burnout, with implications for teacher training and educational policy aimed at improving teacher well-being and retention.
