Abstract
This article focuses on improving communication and wound care management in a single-center burn unit through the implementation of daily dedicated wound care discussions involving physicians, charge nurses, and wound care technicians. The intervention aimed to reduce order discrepancies and enhance clarity in wound care plans without increasing staff workload or rounding time. Pre- and postintervention surveys of nursing staff indicated improved communication, increased wound care proficiency, and high satisfaction with the new process, which included personalized wound care diagrams displayed outside patient rooms. The study concludes that focused multidisciplinary wound care meetings can enhance patient care quality and reduce errors in complex burn patients while maintaining efficient use of clinical time.
