Abstract
The article discusses the digital transformation of the Dutch national lottery, Nederlandse Loterij, and how they balanced profit and purpose in the face of digital disruptors in the online gambling market. Instead of focusing solely on internal improvements and products, Nederlandse Loterij looked outward and reimagined their organization around the customer. They also defined the right goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to balance doing well and doing good, and captured the right data to improve their business and address issues like fraud and addiction. The article emphasizes the importance of transforming the culture and being transparent and responsible throughout the digital transformation process. [Extracted from the article]
