Abstract
The article announces the winners of the 2025 TSL Best Dissertation Award, highlighting research in logistics and urban transportation. The winner, Fabian Akkerman from the University of Twente, was recognized for his dissertation on machine learning applications in sequential decision-making for logistics, supported by the DynaPlex project funded by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy. The runner-up, Bo Lin from the University of Toronto, focused on analytics to improve urban cycling, with support from the City of Toronto Transportation Services and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. The prize committee was chaired by Hai Wang and included four other members.
