Abstract
The article focuses on creating effective onboarding plans for agentic AI—AI systems that act as autonomous colleagues within organizations. It emphasizes that successful AI integration depends less on the technology itself and more on managing work by clearly defining AI agents’ roles, responsibilities, and decision rights through job descriptions. The article recommends designing AI agents to alleviate human pain points, regularly evaluating their performance with explicit metrics, assigning human supervisors for oversight, and treating AI agents like interns who must prove their capabilities before full deployment. Naming AI agents is also advised to clarify their roles and accountability within teams. Overall, embedding agentic AI requires adapting familiar management practices to include virtual AI workers, facilitating smoother organizational transitions. [Extracted from the article]
