Abstract

A reprint of the article "How Management Teams Can Have a Good Fight" by Kathleen M. Eisenhardt, Jean L. Kahwajy, and L.J. Bourgeois III, which appeared in the July-August 1997 issue, is presented. The authors discuss how conflict within top management teams can be beneficial when properly managed. They identify six tactics to keep conflict constructive, including focusing on facts, creating common goals, using humor, and balancing power.
