Abstract

This article from Harvard Business Review discusses the importance of project managers adopting a startup mindset, particularly for projects that are uncertain and ambiguous. The traditional emphasis on planning and execution does not account for the reality that many large-scale projects do not proceed in a linear fashion. Instead, project managers should anticipate changes and incorporate tools from the startup world into their processes. These tools include a project management canvas, customer development process, minimum viable project, and scale-up strategy. By thinking like a startup, project managers can navigate uncertainty and achieve project goals through constant discovery and iteration. [Extracted from the article]
