Abstract
This article investigates how demographic factors of entrepreneurs influence the managerial competencies of micro and small business owners in South Andaman, India. Using a primary survey of 344 entrepreneurs, the study finds that educational qualification and business experience significantly affect managerial competencies, while gender and age do not show a significant impact. The majority of respondents are male, aged between 36 and 50 years, and operate as sole proprietors primarily in manufacturing and service sectors. The findings aim to inform government agencies and policymakers to support small enterprises and promote balanced regional development within the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
