Case Study: How Should We Diversify Our Supply Chain?

The article presents a case study of Kshore, an appliance manufacturer located in China, which is contemplating a reorganization of its supply chain in response to the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Kshore is under pressure from its customers to reduce risks, time, costs, and the environmental footprint associated with international goods transportation. The topics discussed in the article include the decision making process regarding whether to expand to Mexico or enhance its existing operations in Cambodia. Following the initial case study, a commentary elaborates on the pros and cons of these considered expansions.
