Abstract

This article focuses on identifying and classifying personality traits (PTs) that may negatively affect patient satisfaction with prosthodontic treatment. Through a literature review and a Delphi process involving experienced prosthodontists, 26 PTs were categorized into three personality risk profiles (PRPs): low risk (e.g., cooperative, trusting), moderate risk (e.g., insecure, demanding), and high risk (e.g., mistrustful, unrealistic expectations, violent). The proposed PRP system aims to assist dental professionals in recognizing patients who may require tailored management strategies to improve treatment outcomes. Limitations include the expert panel's geographic concentration and potential linguistic variations in trait interpretation, indicating the need for further research and validation across diverse populations.
