Abstract
This article examines the presence and usage patterns of Austrian tenured business administration professors (n=233) on the academic social networking sites (ASNS) ResearchGate and Academia.edu, compared with the citation database Scopus. Findings show that 95% of these professors are represented on Scopus, 78% have ResearchGate profiles, and 42% use Academia.edu, with ResearchGate being the preferred platform for sharing and promoting research. Strong correlations exist between bibliometric indicators on Scopus and ResearchGate, while correlations involving Academia.edu metrics are only moderate, likely reflecting less active engagement on Academia.edu. The study highlights ResearchGate's role in enhancing visibility and networking among senior researchers in Austrian business administration.
