Abstract
Kroger Co. is set to appoint Greg Foran as its new chief executive officer, marking a significant leadership change for the largest grocery chain in the U.S. This decision follows the departure of former CEO Rodney McMullen amid an investigation into his personal conduct and the failure of a $24.6 billion merger with Albertsons Cos. Foran, who previously led Walmart's American division and most recently served as CEO of Air New Zealand Ltd., will be the first CEO hired from outside Kroger. Under interim CEO Ron Sargent, Kroger has focused on expanding store openings and improving operations after the merger's blockage. [Extracted from the article]
