Abstract
Chinese banks are introducing a new type of loan that uses borrowers' data assets as collateral. This financial product aligns with the desire of businesses and regulators to assign value to the vast amounts of data generated in the digital commercial world. The Xiamen branch of China Construction Bank has already granted a 3.5-million-yuan ($486,000) data asset loan to an auto service digital platform startup. This loan is based on an evaluation of the borrower's data assets and business operation. [Extracted from the article]
