Effectiveness of Computer-Assisted Visual Multimedia Instructions on Improvement in Business Administration Skills Among Widows in Rural Communities.

Abstract

This article investigates the impact of computer-assisted visual multimedia instructions (CAMI) on improving business administration skills among widows in rural areas of Kogi State, Nigeria. Using a quasi-experimental design with 540 widows, the study found that participants who received CAMI showed significant improvements in key business administration skills—financial management, supervision, delegation, teamwork, and customer service—compared to a control group, with effects sustained at a six-month follow-up. Additionally, widows exposed to CAMI reported increased intentions to start businesses. The findings support the use of computer-assisted multimedia as an effective tool for empowering widows economically and enhancing their capacity for self-sufficiency in rural contexts.
