Abstract

Generative AI is being used by salespeople as a shortcut to writing effective sales pitches, but it often falls short in actual sales conversations. Despite the hype around generative AI, only a small percentage of CEOs are using it in their businesses. To effectively leverage generative AI in sales, it should be seen as a tool for creativity and learning, rather than a replacement for human expertise. Salespeople should focus on using generative AI to develop a deep understanding of their customers' businesses and engage in meaningful conversations. Organizations should provide examples, establish guidelines, and focus on practice and joint learning to help sales teams effectively use generative AI. [Extracted from the article]
