Abstract

Dutch flag carrier KLM NV, owned by Air France-KLM, has announced plans to postpone or cancel investments and potentially sell non-core operations in order to reduce costs. The measures are expected to improve KLM's operating result by €450 million in the short term and achieve a profit margin of over 8% by 2026-2028. This decision comes as European airlines face challenges such as higher costs, delays in aircraft deliveries, and reduced capacity due to a shortage of technicians and supply problems. KLM aims to reorganize its flight services and training organizations, as well as reconsider and postpone investments, to support its fleet renewal plans. The airline is also exploring divestment or termination of activities that do not directly contribute to flight operations. [Extracted from the article]
