Abstract
The article focuses on the arrest of Francisco Javier Chaparro-Araus, a Florida public adjuster accused of diverting over $600,000 in insurance settlements from homeowners affected by Hurricane Ian. Chaparro-Araus, associated with All Elements Public Adjusters in Miramar, faces charges including fraud, grand theft, and misappropriation of funds, with investigators alleging he withheld settlement proceeds and spent much of the money at casinos. His public adjuster license was suspended in 2015 and 2024, and his firm is not currently licensed. Chaparro-Araus was previously arrested in 2024 on similar charges involving misappropriation of insurance payments. [Extracted from the article]
