Abstract

Industrial carbon pricing is considered the most effective climate policy in Canada by economists and climate change researchers. The policy sets limits on industrial pollution, with companies paying into a fund for emissions exceeding the cap. Despite recent opposition from some oil and gas companies, the policy has driven significant emission reductions and attracted billions in investments. Experts believe industrial carbon pricing not only reduces emissions but also improves industrial competitiveness and may open up new foreign markets for Canadian goods. [Extracted from the article]
