Abstract

Unilever Pakistan has been fined Rs60m by the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) for engaging in deceptive marketing practices. The CCP received a complaint from Reckitt Benckiser regarding Unilever's claims about its Lifebuoy soap and hand wash products. The CCP found that Unilever's claims, such as "100pc guaranteed protection from germs" and "World's No. 1 germ protection soap," were misleading and not adequately disclosed. Unilever has been directed to submit a compliance report within 30 days. [Extracted from the article]
