Huawei and MTN deploy innovative new rural base station in Nigeria.

Abstract

The article focuses on recent technological collaborations and deployments in the Asia Pacific region. Mastercard and Tencent's TenPay Global have partnered to enable fast, secure digital remittances directly to Weixin Pay in China, targeting the country's significant remittance market valued at over US$31 billion in 2024. Huawei and Nigerian operator MTN have launched RuralCow, an innovative, low-power, rapid-deployment mobile base station designed to improve rural connectivity in Nigeria and other regions with challenging infrastructure. Additionally, Hong Kong's Kai Tak Sports Park has implemented Huawei's intelligent campus solution, integrating AI, big data, cloud computing, and 5G to enhance operational efficiency, security, and spectator experience at this major sports venue.
