Abstract
The article discusses research from Portland State University that addresses the gap between consumers' positive attitudes toward ethical products and their actual purchasing behaviors, known as the attitude-behavior gap in ethical consumption. The study introduces an implicit measure of ethical consumerism, based on the Affect Misattribution Procedure (AMP), which has been validated across different cultures and shown to predict ethical consumption behavior more effectively than traditional explicit measures alone. The findings suggest that integrating this new measure with existing methods can enhance the predictive capabilities of marketers and researchers regarding ethical consumption.
