Abstract
Mongolian furniture, as an important carrier of Mongolian culture, not only embodies profound ethnic cultural connotations, but also contains exquisite production techniques and unique decorative arts. However, with the development of modern lifestyle and modernization of agriculture and animal husbandry, the use of traditional Mongolian furniture has gradually decreased, and the production skills are facing loss. The crisis of traditional cultural inheritance is becoming increasingly severe. At the same time, the global digital wave has provided new ideas for the protection and dissemination of Mongolian furniture cultural heritage. Immersive visual technology has shown great potential in the digital preservation, display, and interaction of cultural heritage, providing a new path for innovative design, virtual display, and dynamic dissemination of Mongolian furniture production skills. This article focuses on the protection of Mongolian culture in the design of Mongolian furniture, exploring the application of immersive technologies such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and digital twins in the inheritance, innovative design, and digital display of Mongolian furniture culture. The research results necessitate the development of a digital process for designing and protecting Mongolian furniture, which encompasses a systematic approach to furniture data collection, 3D modelling, virtual display, interactive experience, and digital dissemination. Through immersive visual technology, the cultural characteristics of Mongolian furniture can be presented more intuitively and dynamically, which not only enhances the public's understanding and experience of Mongolian culture but also provides feasible solutions for the digital protection and innovative design of ethnic cultural heritage. This study provides theoretical support for the digital archiving, virtual display, and intelligent interactive design of Mongolian furniture, as well as a reference for the sustainable development of traditional culture empowered by modern technology.
