Abstract
The article discusses risk measures and insurance solvency benchmarks in the insurance industry. It explains that the primary target of regulation is to measure and maintain the solvency of insurance companies. The article introduces the (Cramér)-Lundberg ruin model as an alternative to the regulatory concept, which focuses on the non-ruin view and the accounting concept of going concern. The book provides a theoretical analysis of stochastic modeling in the Lundberg model, but it may be challenging to understand without a background in analysis and probability. The article suggests that including illustrative examples from real insurers' financial statements would make the book more appealing to insurance practitioners. [Extracted from the article]
