Abstract

A study conducted at Shaanxi University of Science and Technology in Xi'an, People's Republic of China, explores the impact of work connectivity behavior after-hours (WCBA) on employees' occupational mental health. The research, drawing on job demand-resource theory, investigates the dual mediating mechanism of work autonomy and work-family conflict on the relationship between WCBA, work engagement, and work burnout. The study reveals that WCBA can have both positive and negative effects on work engagement and burnout, with work autonomy and work-family conflict playing mediating roles, and responsiveness from superiors acting as a moderator. This research aims to provide insights for managers and individuals on how to maximize the positive effects of WCBA and mitigate its negative consequences. [Extracted from the article]
