Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to a surge in entrepreneurship in the United States, with Americans starting businesses at record rates. This boom has been surprisingly durable, with new business applications continuing to increase even three and a half years after the pandemic began. Startups are important for job growth and productivity, and the increase in entrepreneurship is seen as a positive sign for the economy. The pandemic, along with changing consumer habits and enabling conditions such as financial support and technology, has contributed to this surge in entrepreneurship. It remains to be seen whether this trend will continue and have a lasting impact on the economy. Policymakers should support and nurture this entrepreneurial boom to maximize its potential.
