Abstract
The article focuses on the renewed importance of process management in business, emphasizing how artificial intelligence (AI) and new technologies are enabling companies to significantly improve and scale their processes. It outlines a seven-step approach for organizations to integrate people, data, analytics, and AI to enhance end-to-end processes, using examples from companies like Mars Wrigley, PepsiCo, and Deutsche Telekom. Key steps include establishing process ownership, identifying customers, mapping processes with AI tools such as process mining, setting performance metrics, leveraging automation technologies, redesigning workflows, and continuously monitoring improvements. The article argues that despite historical challenges and the complexity of change management, combining well-managed processes with AI-driven technologies offers substantial productivity gains and is essential for firms aiming to improve business performance.
