Abstract
This study aims to assess the relationship between financial literacy (FL) and perceived financial well-being (FWB) by considering the association between the components of FL, that is, financial knowledge and financial skills, with FWB and its components. A survey was distributed to young adults in Brunei, out of which 302 usable responses were collected. Frequency analysis and descriptive statistics indicate low levels of FL and FWB among the respondents. Regression analysis via ordinary least squares technique shows that financial skills play a dominating role in determining FWB as it has significant associations not just with FWB but also its components. On the other hand, financial knowledge has insignificant associations with FWB and its components. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
