Abstract
The article focuses on how family businesses can transform their unique characteristics—referred to as "familiness"—into a competitive advantage through the Family-to-Family (F2F) strategy. This approach emphasizes leveraging trust, long-term commitment, and multigenerational relationships by intentionally building deeper connections with other family-owned customers and suppliers. The Greek paint manufacturer Vitex exemplifies F2F in practice, having revitalized its business by reconnecting with family-run partners, resulting in significant growth, innovation, and market leadership. The F2F strategy involves leading with family identity, embedding family values across the business ecosystem, cultivating multigenerational bonds, and professionalizing management while preserving familiness. By activating these relational assets, family businesses can achieve faster decision-making, stronger loyalty, and resilience that competitors find difficult to replicate.
