Abstract
This article examines intergenerational (IG) mobility in entrepreneurship by analyzing how parental entrepreneurial experience influences the entrepreneurial attitude (EA) of women entrepreneurs in Malaysia and Myanmar. Using primary survey data and ordered logistic regression, the study finds that in Myanmar, parental business experience strongly enhances women's EA, whereas in Malaysia, higher education and a supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem play a more significant role than family business background. The research highlights that business families in both countries tend to invest more in physical capital for their daughters' ventures rather than in their human or social capital, with policy environments mediating these effects. The findings suggest that equitable access to enabling institutional support and education can promote IG mobility in entrepreneurship, especially for women, despite differing family and socio-economic contexts.
