Abstract
University of Minnesota researchers have developed a technological probe that integrates social features with algorithmic processes to provide recommendations for both individuals and groups, aimed at supporting college students' stress management efforts. A user study with 15 college students and their social circles showed that students appreciated the opportunity to share daily activities with friends and felt motivated to engage in well-being-enhancing behaviors. The research highlights the importance of social interaction in improving user engagement with digital mental health tools and provides recommendations for future research in this area.
