Abstract

This paper examines the progression of the accounting field over the past decade, including the needs and demands of employers, the evolution of the CPA examination, and how educators must consider changing and adapting their accounting curriculum to emphasize the critical concepts, skills, and competencies that entry-level accountants need to succeed in today's dynamic and increasingly technological business environment. Although the content of the paper centers on curriculum alignment with the CPA Evolution, the skills assessed on the new CPA examination are beneficial, and many times expected, for all accounting graduates.
