Abstract
The rise of vernacular AI in India is set to revolutionize business communication and responsiveness. Indian startups are creating AI models specifically tailored to Indian languages and cultural biases. The government is also involved in the development of vernacular AI through initiatives like the India AI Programme and Bhashini, a central repository of organized Indic language data. However, funding and data management remain significant challenges for these startups. Despite competition from global AI entities, India's first-generation AI startups have laid the groundwork for the future of vernacular AI in the country. [Extracted from the article]
