Abstract

The article highlights two awards given at the 46th International Pyrotechnics Society (IPS)/Europyro 2023 Conference in France. The Frank Carver Bursary Award supports young pyrotechnicians in attending and presenting their research on energetic materials. The Bernard E. Douda IPS Young Scientific Award provides financial support, networking opportunities, and a 2-year membership in the International Pyrotechnics Society for emerging scientists. The article features interviews with the award winners, Kazuki Inoue and Sabrina Wahler, who discuss their research interests, recent discoveries in the field, and their visions for the future of energetics.
