Abstract

This article focuses on the analysis of chromium using high-resolution high energy x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HAXPES) with monochromatic chromium Kα radiation at 5414.8 eV. The study provides reference spectra including survey scans and detailed spectra of chromium core levels Cr 2s, Cr 2p, Cr 3s, and Cr 3p, obtained from a 99.99% pure polycrystalline chromium foil. Measurements were conducted using a ULVAC-PHI Quantes spherical sector analyzer under controlled conditions, with in situ Ar+ sputtering to remove surface contaminants. The data serve as reliable reference spectra for chromium in HAXPES applications, addressing the scarcity of such high-energy photoemission reference data.
