Abstract
The article discusses the percentage of physics bachelor's degrees compared to all STEM bachelor's degrees and all bachelor's degrees in the US. It highlights the gender disparity in physics degrees, with less than one-fourth of physics bachelor's degree earners being women. Efforts to increase diversity in physics, such as SEA Change and STEP UP, are mentioned, along with a forthcoming study on attrition and retention in undergraduate physics.
