Abstract
This letter discusses the potential benefits of integrating virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies with artificial intelligence (AI)-driven platforms like Chat Generative Pre-trained Transformer (ChatGPT) to enhance patient–doctor consultations. It highlights that while ChatGPT provides valuable health information, it can sometimes be incomplete or misleading, and VR–AR tools could complement AI by offering immersive, interactive visualizations that improve patient understanding. The combination may also facilitate remote healthcare access, especially for underserved populations, but raises concerns about patient privacy, data security, and maintaining empathetic human interaction. The letter concludes that leveraging these technologies together could create more accurate, engaging, and accessible healthcare experiences if implemented thoughtfully.
