Abstract

Computer-mediated communication (CMC) refers to any form of human communication through networked computers, including computer-mediated instruction and learning. In language teaching, computer-assisted language learning (CALL) is a specific term used, but related terms such as computer-mediated communication (CMC) and electronic learning (e-learning) are also used interchangeably. CMC offers new ways to teach and learn, particularly in the case of knowledge dissemination. The digital space allows for more accessible discourse and the spread of knowledge through platforms like fansubbing and digital communities. This special issue explores various aspects of computer-mediated teaching and educational practices in multilingual contexts. [Extracted from the article]
