Abstract
A recent study conducted in North India focused on alcohol dependence treatment using disulfiram, the first FDA-approved drug for this purpose. The research found that approximately 60% of participants maintained alcohol abstinence and adherence after 12 weeks of treatment, with a slight decrease at 24 weeks. The study highlighted the importance of objective measurements to support disulfiram's effectiveness as a psychological tool for alcohol abstinence.
