Abstract
The article focuses on OverDrive's report of record-breaking digital library circulation in 2023, with a 19% increase in checkouts compared to 2022. Library users worldwide borrowed 662 million digital items, including e-books, audiobooks, magazines, and comics, with significant growth in digital magazine checkouts (+75%). OverDrive's Libby app surpassed one billion total checkouts since its launch, with a 17% increase in 2023 checkouts, while the Sora student reading platform saw an 11% rise. The growth was attributed to popular bestsellers and new offerings such as "OverDrive Max," a bundled lending model providing libraries access to 400,000 digital titles.
