Abstract
The article focuses on the partnership between Independent Publishers Group (IPG) and Norway-based Beat Technology, a provider of white-label apps for audiobooks and e-books. This collaboration will enable IPG-distributed publishers to sell e-books and audiobooks directly to consumers through Beat’s Shelf app, launching in late February with a growing catalog from participating publishers. Beat Technology, known for its transparent pricing and existing platforms for Nordic and U.K. markets, views this as its first major U.S. partnership aimed at helping independent publishers access the digital marketplace. IPG plans to introduce a new comprehensive solution for publisher shopping carts across all formats in 2026.
