Abstract
This paper is based on the Periodic Advertising with Response (PAwR) technology of Bluttooth 5.4 standard to solve the gap between user needs and existing applications. This solution aims to improve the flexibility of ESL work and greatly reduce the Electronics Shelf Label (ESL) cost. However, there exists an aperture of understanding behind this trenebdously fast‐paced domain, because it was never previously come true. This paper presents a comprehensive review of histotical and recent state‐of‐the art in ESL domain. Here, we derive a display solution for electronic paper display (EPD) terminal applicable to ESL scenarios, covering the design of upper layer, uplink protocol and downlink protocol.
