Abstract
The article focuses on preparations for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2027 (WRC-27), which will be held in Shanghai, China, and organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). WRC-27 aims to update the ITU Radio Regulations governing global radio-frequency spectrum and satellite orbits, addressing issues such as broadband connectivity, space observation, and next-generation mobile communications. The preparatory process includes extensive multi-stakeholder studies and the first Inter-regional Information Session (IRIS) held in Geneva to review technical and regulatory developments. Additionally, the article highlights the 20th anniversary of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), emphasizing ongoing international cooperation for inclusive digital development and the role of emerging technologies in sustainable progress.
